Restaurants in Mallorca: I spent 12 days in Mallorca, not my first time, but my first time focusing on restaurant reviews. That's one of the reasons I explored the entire island and looked for good places to eat. The island boasts over 1,200 restaurants, bars, cafes, and snack bars. While I didn't quite manage to visit all of them in 12 days ;-), I did eat out almost 30 times (yes, I gained weight) to give you a taste of the variety, from simple and affordable to exquisite and somewhat more expensive.
Almost everyone loves Mallorca, and if, like me, you don't mind being surrounded almost exclusively by Germans on your Spanish holiday, and good food and restaurant visits are top priorities for you, then take a look at my suggestions. Beforehand, I should mention that none of the restaurants knew I was coming, and I only occasionally revealed that I was a restaurant reviewer.
What I found particularly positive in almost all the restaurants – and even small cafes and beach bars – was their accommodating approach to people with food intolerances. In other words, you can eat incredibly well in Mallorca if you have a gluten intolerance or other food allergies. They generally cater to your needs very well, and even the menus have symbols that explain everything. I had some truly delicious meals and some truly awful ones. 😉 Now, let's get started. Again, this isn't a direct ranking, because the restaurants are so diverse and difficult to compare, but rather "simply restaurants that are all worth visiting." I stayed in Cala Ratjada for the entire 12 days. Enjoy!
1. STAY (North: Port de Pollença)
Address: Muelle Nuevo S/N, 07470 , Puerto de Pollença
The Stay was recommended to me personally. It's located right in a beautiful harbor bay in Port de Pollença. You should definitely book in advance and have some cash on hand. You can choose to sit inside the stylish restaurant, on the large terrace overlooking the harbor, or on the terrace that runs along the glass front. Numerous tables are pre-set, and you'll find an extensive menu with exquisite wines, meat dishes, and especially fish. The fish soup was amazing, and my appetizer (avocado with shrimp and a delicate cocktail sauce) was also fantastic. The ambiance is rather chic, the staff very friendly, and one of their wines (San Valentin) has become my new favorite. Everything tasted superb, the amuse-bouche (duck liver pâté) was also a hit, and the Stay is a great choice if you're looking for something a little more upscale on vacation. At the end, I even received two delicious chocolates as a complimentary treat when I paid.
Ordered: 3 glasses of wine (San Valentin and Vina Sol Penedés), 1 0.5l still water, 1 fine fish soup, 1 vegetable soup, 1 avocado and shrimp salad, 1 trio of fish

Conclusion: Stylish restaurant, great service, fantastic view, and the food was delicious too. Don't come in the evening without a reservation.
2. DEL MAR (Northeast: Cala Ratjada)
Address: Avinguda d'Amèrica, 31, 07590 Cala Rajada
Del Mar is a rather chic and cozy restaurant located on the long promenade of Cala Ratjada. It's not very large; the comfortable terrace seats about 25 people at individual tables. There's also a pleasant seating area inside, but the terrace with its sea view is, of course, much nicer. The menu at Del Mar isn't extensive, but it's well-chosen. There are various soups, paella, fish dishes, as well as meat dishes like schnitzel, sliced meat, and beef fillet. They also offer a selection of tapas and a delicious tapas platter as a starter. An extensive dessert menu is also available, featuring options such as almond or chocolate cake, strawberries with ice cream, crema catalana, and more. In the evening, you should definitely make a reservation; otherwise, a visit to Del Mar will involve a considerable wait.

Conclusion: Delicious food, upscale atmosphere, great view – well worth a visit.
3. MONNABER NOU (North / Not by the sea: Campanet)
Address: Predio Monnaber Nou, 7310 Campanet
Monnaber Nou is the restaurant of the luxury spa hotel of the same name. This was also a recommendation I received, which I thankfully followed. It's located in Campanet, not by the sea, but nestled amidst rolling green hills and unspoiled nature. The hotel/restaurant is housed in a truly impressive building. You dine on the enormous terrace, which offers views through arched gateways of Mallorca's verdant landscape. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent. We were treated to a complimentary amuse-bouche (mushroom soup served in a glass) and a comprehensive menu featuring a variety of meat, fish, and other dishes. The view is priceless, and although the sea is "missing," Monnaber Nou captivates with its idyllic setting, superb cuisine, wonderful ambiance, and the most delicious almond cake on the entire island. 🙂 This is the place to go if you're celebrating a special occasion or simply want to enjoy dinner (starting at 7:00 pm) away from the tourist crowds. It's not exactly cheap, but the trip is worth it. The restaurant's interior also boasts a very stylish decor.
Ordered: 2 wines, 1 still water, bread with olives, 1 pumpkin cream and pineapple soup, 1 lobster ravioli, 1 cod fillet with mashed potatoes and onion and saffron confit, 1 stacked milk-fed veal with dried peach and chanterelles, 1 brownie with ice cream, 1 almond cake
Paid: €87 including tip
Conclusion: Ideal for a more rustic, romantic atmosphere. It's not centrally located but rather tucked away and secluded. Incredibly quiet and a wonderful ambiance for dining. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive.
4. FLORIAN (East-West)
Address: Calle Cristobal Colón, 11, 07670 Portocolom
Florian was recommended to me when one of my readers found out I was in Mallorca. Thanks for the tip! The restaurant is stylishly decorated and also offers some outdoor tables with a view of the harbor. While it's not exactly a cozy "sitting by the sea" experience, and there's a lot of foot traffic, it's still possible to feel comfortable. Florian offers excellent lunch menus at fair prices during the week. We had a fish scale with mussels, hake with beetroot and basil sauce, and a creamy fruit dessert for €12. The menu was excellent. I'd never had my chosen goat cheese in pastry with fresh fruit before. Otherwise, delicious pasta, fish, and meat dishes await you. Although the restaurant is rather upscale and the tables are pre-set, the prices are very reasonable, and Florian is definitely worth a visit.

Conclusion: Incredibly good food! View of the harbor, stylish and cozy inside. Great menu, friendly service.
5. SOLO (Northeast: Cala Ratjada)
Address: Paseo Colón, 10, 07590 Cala Ratjada
Solo is a restaurant located directly on the promenade in Cala Ratjada. Initially, I wasn't keen on going in because the menu didn't appeal to me, but I changed my mind because of the cozy atmosphere and fantastic location, and I didn't regret it. They offer a selection of soups, appetizers, meat and fish dishes, and desserts, yet the menu only spans two pages. So, if you prefer a huge variety, Solo isn't for you. However, the food is all the more delicious for it. The sea bream with potato wedges was excellent, and my goat cheese salad was also delicious. The portions are enormous, and it's practically impossible to leave hungry. The waiter was exceptionally friendly and spoke perfect German – like most waiters in Mallorca. The restaurant is very comfortable and relaxed. No matter how often I peeked inside, it was never busy. The terrace and the separate, second terrace right by the sea are both inviting and offer a pleasant, gentle breeze.
Ordered: 1 Hugo, 1 still water, 2 Radlers, 1 goat cheese salad, 1 sea bream with side dish, 1 frozen yogurt, 1 café con leche
Paid: €56 including tip
Conclusion: Located directly on the promenade of Cala Ratjada, super friendly service, direct view of the sea, manageable menu, but a good mix.
6. SES ROTGES (Northeast / Not directly on the sea: Cala Ratjada)
Address: C/ Rafael Blanes, 21, 07590 Cala Ratjada
Ses Rotges was definitely the most upscale, and therefore naturally the most expensive, restaurant I've visited. Serving French cuisine, it's part of a small hotel. You dine in a wonderfully quiet and idyllic courtyard. Large, round tables with white tablecloths are surrounded by colorful shrubs and flowers, and exposed brick walls create a tranquil atmosphere. As a complimentary amuse-bouche, we were served a zucchini and cream cheese roll, followed by a delicious, rich fish soup, superb scallops, and an equally exquisite lamb chop. The staff speaks German, English, French, and, of course, Spanish. During my visit, no other tables were occupied, and when we left, only two more were in use. The portions are naturally smaller, but I was still full and satisfied afterward. If you're celebrating a special occasion, Ses Rotges is the place to go. However, if you're looking for a quick bite after a day at the beach with sandy feet, this isn't the right choice. The menu offers fish, meat, and also some more unusual dishes, such as my scallops on zucchini noodles or sea bass fillet with candied tomatoes. To top it off, we received two small mango-filled cakes with the bill. Not cheap, but a wonderful experience.

Conclusion: High-priced restaurant with great service, not for huge appetites, but ideal for special occasions.
7. PASTA PASTA (North and East: Cala Ratjada and Cala Agulla)

Pasta Pasta has two locations in Mallorca. One is "Pasta Pasta" right on the harbor promenade, and the other is "Pasta Pasta Cala Agulla" in the town of the same name. I ate breakfast and pizza there twice, which should speak volumes about how much I enjoyed the food. If you're ever homesick for a "German breakfast," this is the place for you. They offer muesli with fruit, baguettes with ham and cheese just like Grandma used to make 😉, and—even more importantly—incredibly delicious pasta dishes and pizzas. And they even offer gluten-free and vegetarian options upon request. I really enjoyed going there. I know, "Pizza Pineapple" should be banned by many, but it's perfectly acceptable on vacation. And it tastes fantastic here—just like Pizza Tonno or Caprese. You can also get any dish to go. On my first visit, I had water, Coke Zero, tagliatelle with beef, and a Hawaiian pizza for €23.20—very reasonable. Because it tasted so good, the restaurant got another chance the next day for breakfast: a café con leche, fruit quark, muesli with fruit and milk, water, Coke Zero, and a ham and a cheese baguette. I was stuffed and even struggled to finish it all – and it only cost €28 including tip. So you see: Pasta Pasta is very reasonably priced and yet tastes excellent. I treated myself to the same breakfast again on my second-to-last day because I enjoyed it so much. In my opinion, you should definitely visit Pasta Pasta. However, it's pointless to come in the evening without a reservation, as it's always fully booked. You have a direct view of the sea from the terrace. The restaurant's interior is also cozy.
Ordered: I've been there several times for breakfast (muesli, scrambled eggs, fruit salad with fruit quark, baguettes), lunch (pizza, pasta) and dinner (pizza, pasta).
Paid: so.
Conclusion: Pasta? Pizza? Absolutely! Breakfast is also worth it, the view is stunning, and everything tastes amazing. A true paradise for allergy sufferers.
8. ES MOLLET (North: Cala Ratjada)
Address: Gabriel Roca 1, Cala Rajada
Es Mollet is a restaurant located at the very end of Cala Ratjada's long promenade. Here you have a wonderful view of the harbor and it's a bit quieter than at the front. I often strolled along the promenade, and the restaurant was always empty, though the terrace was packed. The paella on people's plates always looked so delicious, so I tried the seafood paella as well. On my visit, it happened to be the dish of the day and cost only €11.80 per person. Even in Mallorca, where food and drinks are known for their extremely fair prices, paella is usually quite expensive. For a good paella, you generally have to expect to pay €25-28 for two people (and with seafood). Here at Es Mollet, the paella was excellent, and the appetizer – a goat cheese salad – was also delicious. Olives were served beforehand – even without any extra charge on the bill. Despite numerous empty tables, the service was a bit overwhelmed, but on vacation you have a little more time to wait for your food. The almond cake at the end was also delicious. This is the place to go if you're looking for good paella and prefer a quieter atmosphere. Es Mollet isn't anything particularly special, but it offers a well-rounded menu and a cozy atmosphere by the harbor. Everything tasted very good, and the staff was friendly. To top it all off, we were offered a complimentary Spanish schnapps. There's also a set menu for two people at least, for €26 per person, with a predetermined, rotating selection of starter, main course, and dessert. Otherwise, they offer fish, pasta, salads, meat dishes, and children's meals.

Paid: €49 including tip
Conclusion: The service was a bit slow and clumsy, but the paella was very tasty and the location was cozy with a direct view of the harbor.
9. EUFORIA (North: Cala Ratjada)
Address: Av America 12, Cala Rajada
Tapas, tapas, tapas! For that, you have to go to euforia. They have so many different tapas that you certainly won't be able to try them all in one visit. I tried 10 different ones and can therefore highly recommend euforia for tapas. You can sit either right by the sea on the terrace or inside the stylish, all-white restaurant at one of the many tables. Upstairs, where I secured a spot, you have a fantastic view of the sea. The waiters are very friendly and happy to explain each tapa to you. Don't order more than five per person, because even then you'll find it hard to finish them all. During my visit, I ordered a variety of tapas to try them all and see what I liked. The following tapas are definitely worth trying, in my opinion: seafood paella (€3.90), crispy Camembert with fruit sauce (€3.20), cherry tomatoes with goat cheese (€3.20), vegetable tempura (€2.90), goat cheese in an almond crust (€3.20), prawn lollipops with sauce (€3.90), Spanish tortilla (€3.60), salmon with orange sauce (€3.50), three mini burgers (€3.90), and rabbit with onions (€3.60). The menu offers a total of 50 different tapas variations. You can also have breakfast here and try one of the various delicious breakfast options. I would recommend making a reservation in the evening – but you should definitely visit euforia.

Conclusion: Delicious tapas. A wide variety ensures there's something for everyone, friendly service and a stylish yet cozy atmosphere.
10. EL TAPAS DE FLANIGAN (West: Palma)
Address: Passeig Mallorca, 20, 07012 Palma de Mallorca
Admittedly, when I arrived, I was actually looking for a different restaurant located there. However, according to the waiters, it had been closed for over a year, so I ended up at El Tapas de Flanigan. They offer a variety of tapas and exceptionally well-trained and friendly waiters. My waiter was able to explain exactly what ingredients were in each dish and how they were prepared. He also recommended certain things to order, or rather, not to order. 😉 It's not located by the sea, but rather on a busy pedestrian street, yet it's right in the heart of Palma. The tapas are delicious, and there's a fairly extensive selection – including gluten-free bread, which I ordered to try. So, there are options for people with allergies. Inside, you can sit comfortably along a bar or at individual tables for two. El Tapas de Flanigan isn't particularly fancy, but it's cozy and inviting. I opted for a selection of tapas and a trempó (a type of flatbread) in a main course size. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. Here, as is typical for tapas, you can order exactly the amount that will satisfy your hunger. The waiter was kind enough to point out that you wouldn't be able to manage more than two tapas portions. I can recommend a visit for a relaxed atmosphere in a pleasant setting close to the heart of Palma.

Conclusion: Located right in the heart of Palma, excellent service, food also available for allergy sufferers, not by the sea but still cozy. Definitely recommended for tapas.
11. CAFE PARISIEN (East: Artà)
Address: Carrer de Ciutat, 18, 07570 Artà
Café Parisien is one of my favorites. It's located in Artà, not by the sea, but that doesn't detract from its charm. In Artà, most of the restaurants, cafés, shops, and bars are clustered along a single street. Café Parisien is also situated there, with its inviting garden in the back, adorned with grapevines, flowering trees, fairy lights, and birdsong amidst the lush greenery. The tables are comfortable, creating a wonderful atmosphere, like sitting in a little fairytale world. The interior of the Parisien is equally cozy. There's also a cake counter with cakes that look quite "German." The menus—as is the case in most, if not all, restaurants—are in German and extensive. In addition to the risottos, there are various appetizers, meat and fish dishes, as well as soups and salads. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The exquisite fish soup was incredible. If it's still on the menu when you visit, definitely try it. However, it's impossible to finish as a starter on your own. Café Parisien really does make you feel a bit like you're in France, because so many French people come here. I felt very comfortable here and would come back again and again – if only it weren't so far from Munich.

Conclusion: A must-visit. Very idyllic and delicious food. Artà is worth a visit for Café Parisien alone. The courtyard is very romantic and cozy in the evening.
12. EL CACTUS (North: Cala Ratjada)
Address: Avda. Leonor Servera 83, 07590 Cala Ratjada
I discovered El Cactus while strolling through Cala Ratjada, or rather, I found the menu intriguing. The restaurant is run by two Germans, and as I now know after my visit, the food tastes very German. 🙂 My fish was delicious, and if you order it, definitely choose the John Dory fillet with the champagne mustard sauce – it's amazing! The avocado and strawberry salad was equally wonderful. I was almost at my limit when it came to finishing it, but I managed it in the end. An interesting combination and beautifully presented. Inside, the restaurant reminds me a lot of a Bavarian inn. 😉 Light-colored furniture, a bit of Spanish decor, and otherwise very little that evokes Mallorca. Nevertheless, it's very cozy, including on the terrace, which runs right along a road through Cala Ratjada. You can't see the sea from there. Directly opposite is the restaurant "Royal," which I didn't try. It has the same owners. El Cactus is a bit more expensive, but you can expect excellent fish and fantastic dishes. The staff also speaks German. Definitely order the fish here. They also offer meat, pasta, various seafood dishes, soups, salads, and more. A complimentary amuse-bouche (tuna tartare) was served before the appetizer. El Cactus is definitely one of the better restaurants I've tried.

Conclusion: Not exactly cheap, but very delicious. Very fresh fish, very large portions, and friendly service. No sea view and located more in the town center.
13. BON PROFIT (Northeast: Port d'Alcúdia)
Address: Carretera Alcudia – Arta 31 a, 07400 Port d'Alcúdia
Bon Profit is located in Port d'Alcúdia and offers delicious pasta, pizza, appetizers, salads, and other specialties. I ended up there because I was really craving pasta with pesto. I found it a bit odd that the pasta (spaghetti) was cut into pieces, but the taste was excellent. The potato wedges were also very tasty with the dip. The Caesar salad was also delicious and reminded me of a visit to Vapiano. 🙂 The staff was very friendly, but they barely understood my order (in English). You'll need a little patience with the staff here, but you can look forward to a delicious meal. They also offer a variety of beers, drinks, and coffees. Wines from different regions are also on the menu. People with allergies will definitely feel comfortable here, and there's plenty of choice for meat lovers and pizza enthusiasts as well. Bon Profit is located on a main road with fairly heavy traffic, but you can definitely take a leisurely stroll to a beach in Port d'Alcúdia from here. Bon Profit isn't the place for an evening in a sophisticated setting, but it's perfect for a relaxed get-together after a day at the beach.

Conclusion: Delicious pasta dishes – all available gluten-free upon request. No sea view. Cozy terrace, friendly waiters, simple atmosphere.
14. CAFÉ L'ARCADA / PIZZARIA (South: Cala Figuera)
Address: c/Virgen del Carmen 80, 07659 Cala Figuera
A cozy restaurant right in Cala Figuera along the promenade, with very tasty food. I had a fantastic trempó with apple and cheese, and a delicious pizza with a perfectly balanced crust. We got a table quickly. A few stray cats came by to see what was on offer. The food arrived very fast, and there was a great view of a bay nestled between high cliffs. Unfortunately, I got a very unfriendly waiter. They offer a wide selection of hot and cold tapas, various salads, paellas, spaghetti dishes, pizzas ranging from €8.90 to €14.10, and a variety of meat and fish dishes. If you're allergic or phobic of cats, this is a good place to go, as kittens often wander by and want to be petted.
Ordered: 1 Coke Zero, 1 still water, 1 Trempó with apple and cheese, 1 Pan con Tomate, 1 goat cheese salad, 1 Pizza Caprichosa
Paid: €39 including tip
Conclusion: Delicious food, cozy location, very crowded and quite cramped inside, unfriendly waiter somewhat spoils it, fair prices
15. CAFÉ AM CAP FORMENTOR (northernmost point of Mallorca)
Address: Just head all the way up north until you reach the water 🙂
Cap Formentor is a must-see. You can only get there by car or bus; unfortunately, there's no other way. At the top, there's a tiny café that opens at 9:00 AM. Be early and quick, because the crowds arrive in no time and it gets increasingly packed. Sitting here with a Coke, a slice of pizza, or an ice cream is simply part of a perfect Mallorca vacation. Why? See for yourselves in the pictures; no further explanation is needed. The café doesn't offer table service; you have to queue yourself. As a bonus, you'll be joined at your table by some goats. It's one of the most beautiful spots in Mallorca. During my visit this year, I didn't order anything from the café, so I don't have any prices or photos of the food. But everything looked fantastic, and the pizza on the other diners' plates looked delicious too.
…and here are a few places to grab a tasty snack:
1. Brins Burger (North: Cala Ratjada) Hamburger especial 3.50, Café con lege 1.40
Address: C/ Leonor Servera, 52, 07590 Cala Ratjada
It doesn't look that great here, but the food tastes delicious – and you can have it two or three times in a row! 🙂 Tasty burgers and great snacks if you just can't bring yourself to go to Burger King in Mallorca.
2. Beach Point (North: Cala Ratjada) Diet Coke 2.20, Café con lege 1.85
Address: Carrer Leonor Servera, 45, 07590 Cala Ratjada
It was always empty here, no matter how often I walked by. Nevertheless, the view is fantastic. It's the perfect place for a simple drink and a great view. For food, go somewhere else.
3. Yaa Yoghurt (North: Cala Ratjada)
Address: Carrer d'Elionor Servera, 66, Capdepera
Frozen yogurt with 100 different toppings. I couldn't resist. Three toppings €3.60, two toppings €2.50. They also have fresh fruit – which can also be combined with toppings and yogurt.
4. Jardí Botànic de Sóller (Northwest: Soller)
Address: Ctra. Palma-Port de Sóller, Km 30.5, 07100 Sóller
€6 entrance fee per person – Palm Garden and botanical garden with a small historical museum and a small café nestled among palm trees. Worth a visit; the selection is small but excellent.
…and the best and cheapest restaurant is still right by the sea, with pizza, ice cream in hand, or fresh melon on the beach. 🙂
One last tip: If bread and olives are placed on your table, you usually pay for them. However, you can decline them. In high-end restaurants, bread and olives are generally not charged. During my visit, the island newspaper even reported that a vote was currently underway in Mallorca to determine whether this practice should continue, as guests are being served items they are notified of and which they would otherwise have to pay for.

Don't order pizza at "Gran Café" in Cala Ratjada, and definitely don't order shrimp at "Son Moll – bunte Träumeria" – it wasn't good. I also visited about 15 other restaurants.
