We recently had a craving for sushi. The delivery service apparently wasn't interested in us. We ordered at 7:28 pm and at 9:35 pm, after three phone calls and the woman on the other end of the line repeatedly and getting frustrated, we finally got our "sushi express" (express!) meal.
I have to say, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous, and you can't help but wonder, "Wow, what exclusive thing could be inside?" Of course – sushi! But definitely not the kind of sushi I'd expect for – if you look at the pictures – 21 euros. That's exactly what the contents of the box cost – just the box itself. In total, we paid 40 euros.
What was really delicious was the "dessert." It was something different for a change. Rice rolls – sweet, with mango and a honey/chocolate dipping sauce. A bit heavy after the main course, and after three rolls each, quite a lot, but very tasty – as it should be for almost 7 euros. The noodles (udon menrui shrimp, fried udon noodles for 12.90 euros) were also excellent, and there was nothing to complain about. I had never eaten this type of noodle before, and the shrimp were also edible.
The driver apologized for the two-hour delay in our food delivery, and I reluctantly (twice!) signed his confirmation that he had arrived. He said weekends were always incredibly busy. I refrained from commenting that this was crucial information for the customer, and that perhaps stopping accepting new orders would be more beneficial for the restaurant than dealing with frustrated customers.
I would definitely recommend that Sushi-Express place less emphasis on fancy packaging – which certainly has to do with the price point – and focus more on good sushi. While the rolls were well-rolled and quite "neat," with plenty of rice, they were still more in line with mid-range sushi. Perhaps I'll give this delivery service another chance on a weekday evening – but this time without the grumpy woman on the phone – to see if it was just a one-off.
If you have patience and a craving for delicious noodles, then give the Sushi Express a try. However, I'd really skip the sushi – I can get a nice cardboard box with tons of plastic (we ended up with a huge pile of trash) for less. Sorry, Sushi Express.

I've had a similar experience. I always plan for a 1.5-hour wait… 😉
