Theresa, or rather Theresa Grill Bar, is a must! Anyone who... Occam Deli Anyone who enjoys the ambiance, service, and overall atmosphere will feel at least as comfortable, if not more so, at Theresa. Admittedly, you can only believe this once you're inside, because from the outside, you'd probably walk right past Theresa without giving it a second thought, as it's not very inviting. So, Theresa seems to rely primarily on its name and its affiliation with other well-known restaurants in Munich... and – once inside – on its absolutely perfect ambiance and service. We felt right at home.

So, around 5:30 p.m., I called for a table that same evening and was given one for 1 hour and 45 minutes. When we entered, almost the entire restaurant was empty, and the numerous waiters and waitresses were bustling around the bar, which was located relatively close to the entrance. Theresa is very long and narrow, extending far back, and unlike Occam Deli, it's somewhat larger and longer, not quite as manageable in size, yet just as cozy, thanks to its glass front facing the street. Otherwise, the entire interior is just right: gray walls, lots of wood, sophisticated lamps, subtle lighting, white tablecloths, fully set tables, gray upholstered banquettes, beautiful floors, high ceilings, and an overall very convincing ambiance with a welcoming atmosphere. Even when the restaurant filled up completely about 45 minutes after our arrival, we didn't feel any less comfortable, cramped, or uncomfortable.

As we sat down at our small table in the back corner, we were asked if we wanted our coats taken and shortly after, what we would like to drink. We opted for a white Burgundy (0.2l/€7). It took us a little longer to decide on our food. Our waiter was very friendly and offered to answer any questions we had about the menu. I inquired about the redfish and ultimately decided on that as well. It was served with fried zucchini, falafel, and yellow bell pepper foam for €24.50. My companion wanted the T-bone steak (heifer, 35-day dry-aged, €9.00 per 100g) on the menu, but the waiter explained that it was only available in portions of 600g and that the price depended on the size of the cut. After some discussion, my companion decided on an Irish Hereford steak with bacon-wrapped green beans and homemade fries. I briefly considered ordering the potato risotto with scamorza cheese and green asparagus for €18.50, but then opted for the fish, as the side dishes looked more appealing and I was also in the mood for fish. My fish was excellent, very delicious, very tender, delicate in flavor, and superb on the paprika foam. The falafel was a bit too dry without fish or sauce, so I left a small piece. Otherwise, there was nothing to criticize about either my meal or my companion's. The meat (€36 excluding fries or beans – these cost an additional €4.50 each) was very tender, served medium upon request, and tasted superb. Two homemade BBQ sauces and ketchup, presented in small glass bottles, accompanied the meal – a great touch. The BBQ sauce was delicious, the ketchup okay. The wine I ordered was also very good. The bread from the bread basket, which was served with some olive oil – poured into a shallow bowl in front of us at the table, seasoned with salt and pepper – also tasted fresh, soft and delicious.

Alternatively, other main courses were available on the menu, such as sea trout with white asparagus, arugula gnocchi, and Riesling for €22.50; a cheeseburger (medium or well) with organic beef, cheddar, caramelized onions, bacon, and homemade fries for €14.50; pink veal fillet with black bean mousse, okra, and spiced jus for €24.50; braised lamb shank with ratatouille and wild garlic polenta for €23.00, etc. Unfortunately, we had to wait a bit too long for our food. Although we were sitting comfortably and chatting pleasantly, the wait was somewhat borderline acceptable, especially knowing that our time at the table was limited. We watched the tables slowly fill up, some with larger groups and others with just couples. The waiters arrived with small boards and steak tartare, which was freshly prepared and arranged before the guests' eyes. Large wooden boards laden with enormous cuts of raw meat were presented to the guests to facilitate their selection after a detailed explanation. Small bread baskets were taken from the wooden structure suspended from the ceiling and brought to the tables. The menus listed the different types of meat with their precise origin, the available weight, and the accompanying side dishes. Side dishes included our choice of green beans with bacon, fries, seasonal vegetables, Caesar salad, etc. – each for €4.50, which is very reasonable and fair considering the amount served and the other prices. Of course, it's difficult to mentally calculate the price based on the quantity of food consumed, but in conjunction with the excellent service, delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and tasteful ambiance, it's definitely justified. We paid €90 for two 0.2l glasses of wine, a large bottle of water, two main courses, and two sides, or €100 including tip. Certainly not an inexpensive evening, but definitely worth the money. If you're not full after the main courses, you can order more. Theresa offers a variety of desserts, such as rice pudding with rhubarb compote and apple-ginger sorbet, two kinds of chocolate mousse, or crème caramel – all for €9. For those with less of a sweet tooth, there's a [missing word - likely "cake" or "dessert"] for €8.50. Cheese selection with fig mustard. Unfortunately, I was completely full and didn't get to enjoy it. You can find the complete menu here. here.

As a special feature, Theresa offers a bowling alley. Bowling is free… or so you thought… it's free if you spend at least €350 there. Usually, people like to go out in groups, and if you're a party of four or six, you'll quickly reach that amount. If you want to bowl and your meal is less than the minimum spend, the difference (to reach €350) will be charged as a room rental fee. Bowling would have cost my companion and me €250 yesterday. 😉 So, it's probably intended more as a group activity. You can rent the bowling alley during the day between 12:00 and 17:30 or in the evening from 18:00 to 1:00 (bowling ends at 23:30). You can also plan and host parties for up to 25 people there. It's not exactly cheap.

I would definitely recommend a visit – for a meal – not if you just want to grab a quick bite, but if you're looking for a relaxed evening for two, three, or a larger group. Without a reservation, I think you won't get very far, especially in the evening, or you might get a time limit for your table, like we did. I can't say for sure what it's like at lunchtime, but a phone call beforehand might be helpful. The restaurant offers a set lunch menu from 12 pm for €11.50. This includes a small starter – salad or soup, for example – a main course, and a dessert, such as cake. This menu changes daily from Monday to Friday. A friend of mine had lunch there a while ago and said he was very satisfied, and that the price-performance ratio was perfectly reasonable for such a delicious lunch menu. The restaurant is open from 11 am on weekdays and from 9 am on weekends and holidays. Card payments are accepted. Give it a try if you're willing to spend a little more for excellent food in a great atmosphere. The staff is professional and attentive. The asparagus soup served in a small glass as a complimentary appetizer makes the decision to visit even easier. 🙂 While it didn't need any extra salt, it was still delicious. Grab your loved ones and head on over to Theresa!.

I'll be back: Absolutely. If I'm willing to pay a little more and want to enjoy perfect service combined with delicious food in the city center, then this is the place for me.
