Jaipur Grünwald

Jaipur Indian Restaurant in Grünwald is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Munich area. It's located south of Munich in the chic Grünwald district, right on the market square. The menu features a variety of hot and cold appetizers from India. A mixed appetizer platter, chicken or lamb dishes, and the classic samosa are all included. The main courses continue the traditional theme, with numerous vegetarian options available. Indian cuisine is known for its reliance on spices and aromas, often without meat. At Jaipur, you'll be served top-notch dishes. From classic tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, and dal makhani, to various lamb, chicken, or fish dishes, and authentic curry dishes, they offer something for everyone. Biryani, if you prefer it less saucy, is also available in several variations.

The ambiance is exceptionally inviting and cozy. Free tables are rare, so a reservation is always recommended, even on weekday evenings. Once you do, you'll receive a warm welcome and excellent service. Don't miss the fresh mango – beautifully presented and conveniently ready to eat. I recommend a fresh mango lassi to accompany your main course, or perhaps as a side dish to your starter. No matter which main course you choose, a naan bread from the tandoori oven is a must. It's perfect for dipping the thali pots, which are one of my favorites! Thali comes in various styles, with a choice of ingredients for each pot. Just watch the video. It's definitely worth a visit. At the end, you'll receive a small container—similar to a sugar shaker—containing a mixture of various Indian spices. This stimulates digestion and ensures you feel good after eating. Try it sometime. Place it in the palm of your hand and let it soak in with your tongue. This is usually offered by any decent Indian restaurant. I'm already looking forward to my next thali, biryani, naan bread, mango lassi, and other Indian specialties at Jaipur Grünwald. (It's a bit hidden, by the way. You have to go down a flight of stairs below the Eyesee optician.)
